      Hours of Operation

      Schedule options offered to our students:

      • 8:00 am – 8:30 am – Breakfast Time
      • 8:30 – 4:00 pm – Academic Program. Mandatory attendance
      • 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm – After School Program Hours. Optional attendance

      Dual Language Education Curriculum

      Metaphor International School is proudly presenting the Dual Language Elementary School Education Program in a 50/50 or 60/40 format depending on the grade. All disciplines, including Math, Logics, Science, History and Geography are taught in both Russian and English languages with two Russian speaking teachers and two English speaking teachers staying in close communication working on syllabus and weekly planning.

      Mandatory Curriculum and Supplementary Subjects

      We assure a rich and challenging program based on the best methods of Russian classical Elementary education and American Educational Programs, which aligns with US Common Core Educational Standards as well as Virginia State Common Core requirements. Cross-curricular connections are specifically built between subjects to enrich and deepen the understanding and knowledge of any studied material. The focus on culturally responsive teaching assures global context and inclusivity.

      Recesses and Meals

      • The playground time is scheduled for after lunch before students start their set of afternoon classes.
      • Nature Discovery Outdoor class held once a week will substitute for some of the recess time.
      • All forty-minute classes are followed by a short break.
      • Four meals a day are provided to students interested in our Meal Plan.

      Graduation Documents, Transcripts and Certificates

      Upon completion of our Duo-Education Program a student will receive several documents

      • a Transcript
      • a Certificate of Completion
      • a Recommendation for entering Advanced Academic Programs (AAP) if qualified
